BioCep has developed a novel cell separation technology for rare cell isolation facilitating the development of novel clinical applications such as prenatal diagnosis, stem cell therapies and disease management. BioCep will market application-specific systems and consumable kits to customers in these fields. BioCep’s first application is fetal nucleated red blood cell separation from the maternal bloodstream in the 1st trimester for non invasive prenatal diagnosis (NIPD), a $1.8B annual market.
