Drink Sciences is developing a a simple, easy-to-use stirrer that accurately and reliably detects spiked drinks. The product works extremely quickly, and is inconspicuous and inexpensive. Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault (“DFSA”) is a a serious issue that affects millions of women in the US and globally. The US Department of Justice estimates that 200,000 women fall victim to DFSA each year in the US, and our market research indicates that perception far exceeds this prevalence - over 50% of women surveyed suspect they have consumed a spiked drink, or personally know someone who does.
