Haptico Ltd. is a developer of portable, non-invasive solutions for the prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) using innovative smart material technology. Today, DVT is a major health concern globally. In the US alone, more than 12 million post-surgical patients are at risk for DVT. We have passed the last three years, in developing a patent pending solution for manipulating a smart material called electro active polymer (EAP) into a flat linear actuator. You can imagine it as a thin rubber band that can stretch and contract due to an electric pulse. Using this technology, we are constructing a compression stocking, that will continuously massage the limb, at home or in the hospital, for the improvement of blood circulation, and prevention of DVT.
